Agenda
Set Expectations in Advance of the Meeting
Purpose: Let the team know your intention for the upcoming conversation
Set the Intentions and Outcomes
Purpose: Clarify the purpose and agenda of this meeting
- [ ] Share the desired outcome (if this is known in advance). What is the goal for today?
- Alternatively, ask the participants, “With respect to the topic of setting goals as a team, what would be a great outcome for our conversation today?”
- [ ] Write down the agreed-upon outcome, ideally, in a shared document (virtual) or whiteboard/paper (in-person).
- [ ] Verbally build the agenda for this meeting with the team. Do this by talking through the remaining agenda items on this page.
- “In order to get to our target outcome of X today, here’s the agenda I have in mind to make this an effective meeting.”
- [ ] Ask if any participants have questions about the process. Answer to the best of your ability.
- “Does anyone have any questions about the process? Any recommendations to change it? Anything we’re missing?”
